British Virgin Islands Law Is Very Business Friendly

By Kimberly West

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) play an important role in the world of business and commerce. It is hard if not impossible to imagine how global commerce can take place without offshore financial centers like BVI, Belize, Panama, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Seychelles. British Virgin Islands in particular is an important business center for incorporation, finance, insurance and logistics among other activities. That is due to the business friendly nature of British Virgin Islands Law. BVI commercial legal stipulations were been designed with the needs of global businesses in mind. Civil issues such as tort are also properly covered by the legal system.

The British have given the world many good things. They gave humans a language that is considered as the lingua franca of planet earth due to the fact that it is spoken by billons of people all over the world. The English common law legal system that started centuries ago is what has inspired the legal stipulations of many countries and territories including BVI.

BVI is considered as one of the best places for incorporating a company. That is partly due to the friendly taxation rate. Also, BVI commercial law is friendly to businesses. It defines the various business formations that are allowed in this part of the world. One can start a BVI company in less than a day. Another business formation is partnership.

Commercial legal stipulations also relate to things such as insolvency, bankruptcy, insurance and banking. Because of good BVI banking stipulations there is a wonderful business climate. At the end of the day, an individual or a business will need to bank funds. There is the need for a bank account that has a good interest rate on the deposits.

BVI commercial law covers insurance and other vital corporate services. Insurance legal matters have been set up in such a way that insurers cannot defraud the public. So long as the risk insured for has occurred, one can rest assured that he will obtain an adequate sum of compensation. Insurance is necessary in the world of business and commerce.

At the core of the legal system there are rights, freedoms, and responsibilities. Without these, the legal system is not complete and it can be considered as inadequate. It is the responsibility of every resident to pay taxes. However, BVI taxation rate is very low. As relates to freedoms, each individual has a good deal of freedoms including freedom of speech.

A person who thinks that his rights have been infringed is free to seek legal address. One should not let his rights be trampled by another individual. Every individual is equal in the face of British constitution. There is no one who is more equal than another individual. That is a reality that every person should learn to accept.

There are two things that are important for the stability of a nation. There are morality and legality. Without these two, a nation is as good as dead and it can as well be called a banana republic. No one should be above the law. Everyone should be subject to the constitution and the legal system so that society can function in a seamless manner.
